Pet Detective

Pam Rouda, Certified Pet Detectivethe owner and manager of LocateMyPet.net, LLC, is a lifetime animal lover. This pet detective has been rescuing stray and abandoned animals, mostly cats and dogs, for most of her adult life. Since 1993, Pam has rescued, spayed and neutered, rehabilitated, and found new forever homes for over 1,200 pets. She is an active volunteer and foster mom for both Idaho Humane Society and for Northwest Animal Companions.

In 2003, Pam joined a group of six other people in forming the first no-kill network in Tulare County, California. Love of Animals, Inc. , based in Visalia, CA, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that started and maintains innovative programs in one of the poorest counties in the state.

In October 2005, shortly after her family moved to Boise, Pam's 10-year-old cat, Tiglet, slipped out a side door. While searching frantically for Tiglet, Pam found the Missing Pet Partnership (MPP) website and Mark Jorgensen, Idaho's only other Certified Pet Detective. Ultimately, her precious cat was recovered and Pam became committed to learn more about the field of lost pet recovery. This event is what led her to becoming a real life Certified Pet Detective.

Certified Pet Detective

Pam took Kat Albrecht's Missing Animal Response (MAR) Technician certification course in June, 2006 in Dallas, Texas. Shortly after arriving home, Pam got a call from the Idaho Humane Society asking for help fostering a dog. She brought home a 7-month-old Black Lab puppy whom she named Petey. He turned out to have all the qualities Pam was looking for in a search dog. Petey loves every animal he meets and has made friends with cats, dogs, rats, guinea pigs, turtles, ferrets, and horses. Pam began training him immediately, adopted him as a member of the family in August, and returned for more training from Kat and MPP in Fresno in November 2006. Pam and Petey continue to train regularly.
